Dr Ong Fung Chin

Dr Ong started her medical career in 1985 in various public hospitals. She then joined a private group practice before leaving for postgraduate studies in dermatology in London. In 1994, she opened Maple Clinic in Tampines, which started as a general practice clinic but soon became a family practice dermatology clinic seeing mostly patients with skin conditions. In line with emerging trends among dermatologists in the United States in the 1990s, Dr Ong was among the first in Singapore to seek to enhance treatment outcomes by complementing prescription medicines and medical procedures with medical skincare products. The suite of skincare products, which Dr Ong jointly developed with overseas laboratories and manufacturers, grew over the years to more than 100 items today. While treatment for skin issues remained the mainstay at Maple Clinic, services like aesthetic injectables and lasers were added over time. Dr Ong has been instrumental in embracing new and effective treatment technologies for our clinics, pioneering the adoption of such machines as PicoSure, MiraDry, Isolaz and Cutera Xeo in Singapore.
Dr Ong obtained her degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1985. She subsequently enrolled in the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals (now part of King’s College, London), where she received a postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology in 1992. She also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health from the National University of Singapore in 2021.
Dr Ang Hwa Cheng Serene

Dr Ang has been in medical practice since 1986. She started her medical career working in public hospitals for nine years, before joining a community hospital practice in Ang Mo Kio for two years. She then became a partner of a general practice clinic before joining our Group. Dr Ang has been with our Group since 1997, focusing on family practice dermatology, aesthetic medicine and family medicine. She has Certificates of Competency in chemical peels, laser procedures and botox and filler injections and has many years of experience in these procedures.
Dr Ang obtained her degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1986. She subsequently obtained her degree of Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) from the National University of Singapore in 1996.
Dr Handry Gumanti
MB ChB (Dundee), Dip Prac Derm (Cardiff)
Dr Gumanti has been in medical practice since 1999. He started his medical career working in the National Health Service in the UK. He subsequently moved to Singapore and worked in several private medical groups before joining our Group in 2013.
As part of Dr Gumanti’s personal continuing professional development, he has attended various workshops accredited by the SMC Aesthetic Procedures Oversight Committee, including laser for treating skin pigmentation, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, lasers or intense pulsed light for hair removal, skin rejuvenation (fractional lasers), lasers (ablative) for skin resurfacing, filler injection and botulinum toxin injection.
Dr Gumanti obtained his degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Dundee in 1999. He obtained his postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University in 2015.
Dr Lau Chin Hoh

Dr Lau has been in medical practice since 2000. He worked in the SingHealth group for nine years, before joining Raffles Medical Group as a general practitioner for over a year. From 2010 to 2013, he worked in the emergency department at Mount Alvernia Hospital. He also furthered his experience overseas in Sydney, Australia where he was an associate at Eagle Vale Medical Centre, before joining our Group in 2013. Having obtained a Graduate Diploma in Family Practice Dermatology from the National University of Singapore in 2015, he has a particular interest in general and aesthetic dermatology in addition to general medicine. Dr Lau is committed to helping patients find solutions to medical and dermatological concerns.
Dr Lau obtained his degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2000. He subsequently obtained his degree of Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) from the National University of Singapore in 2006. Dr Lau has been a collegiate member of the College of Family Physicians Singapore since November 2008 and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners since July 2012.
Dr Lynette Yap Chien Yu
MBBS (St George’s, University of London), [Dip Clinical Derm (Queen Mary University of London)], [GDFM (NUS, Singapore)]
Dr Yap has been in medical practice since 2017. After graduation, she worked at the National Health Service in Britain for two years. From 2019 to 2021, she trained in family medicine and rotated across various departments in several public hospitals in Singapore. She joined our Group in 2022.
As part of her personal continuing professional development, she has attended various workshops accredited by the SMC Aesthetic Procedures Oversight Committee, including those on pigment lasers for pigmentary skin disorders, botulinum toxin A injection, filler injection, non-surgical body contouring, devices for skin tightening, ablative lasers for skin resurfacing, skin rejuvenation (fractional lasers), chemical peels and intense pulsed light for skin rejuvenation.
Dr Yap obtained her degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from St George’s, University of London in 2017. She subsequently obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology (Distinction) from Queen Mary University of London and her Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore in 2023.
Dr Dennis Teng Shi Chong
MBBS (NUS, Singapore), MBA (London Business School)
Dr Teng has been in medical practice and the pharmaceutical and medical device industry since 1996. While keeping in touch with clinical practice, he worked in leading global pharmaceutical companies in medical information, clinical trials, physician education and medical affairs, including key roles in a major manufacturer of dermatology and aesthetic products. He joined our Group in 2024.Â
As part of Dr Teng’s personal continuing professional development, he has attended various workshops accredited by the SMC Aesthetic Procedures Oversight Committee, including pigment lasers for pigmentary skin disorders, devices for skin tightening, skin rejuvenation (fractional lasers) and botulinum toxin A injection.
Dr Teng obtained his degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore. He subsequently obtained his degree of Master of Business Administration from London Business School, University of London, in 2022.Â

Niks Maple Clinic (Tampines) and Niks Maple West Clinic (Jurong East) are walk-in clinics and no appointment is necessary.
